Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san Will Get a Short Anime Adaptation This Spring

2014 turns out to be such a great year for us yuri fans. Sakura Trick is already airing, in spring Akuma no Riddle will follow and now we’ll even get more? Wow, that’s just great!

Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san is a  4-coma comedy manga by Kuzushiro.
So far, I think not that many chapters have been translated, so some of you might not even know this manga at all.

So here’s a short synopsis:

About best friends Yachiyo Inugami and Suzu Nekoyama. Inugami likes cats and has a dog-like personality. Nekoyama likes dogs and has a cat-like personality. (mangaupdates.com)

I have no idea how many episodes this will have in the end, maybe only one? Well, it will already air in spring, so we’ll probably find out soon enough.
Also, I know I shouldn’t say this, but I will still do it anyway.
I don’t really know and understand what criteria they use to decide which manga they will make into an anime, but since they already chose 2 manga from the Yuri Hime (Yuru Yuri and this one), why not chose another one? I heard Citrus is still available… just saying.

  1. Three minutes a week may not sound like much but I bet it'll be sweet.

We shall see whether they will grant your deepest desire dearest kunoichi-chan.

  2. Wow! Three yuri animes in a row! lucky us! The criteria for yuri animes seems kind of random. Is it a trend now to adapt 4-coma mangas into anime? I agree that Citrus should be adapted into an anime. Although I think that more chapters will have to be released before anyone will be able to animate it.

  3. Hm, I'm hoping that the episodes will at least be a little longer, maybe it will have regular 25 minutes episodes, but only a few of them like an OVA.
    I'm actually hoping for that.

  4. Maybe it's really the 4-coma or maybe they go for comedy, but I'd rather see a yuri drama/romance like Citrus.

If I remember correctly, Akuma no Riddle also only has one volume released right now, just like Citrus.
I think both are close to 2 volumes now and that's what I think is probably enough to make a 12 episodes anime from.

  5. The reason Citrus isn't being adapted yet is that it's still too short. But if yuri does get more popular with the shows we do have, there's a good chance we'll get a Citrus anime.

  6. As I said in the comment above, I think (if magaupdates is up to date) Akuma no Riddle has about the same amount of chapters released right now, but I guess it's really rare that a manga is being picked up so early.

I'll continue dreaming about a Citrus anime adaptation now 😛

  7. I guess Akuma no Riddle's author has the script up and running, but isn't ready with the illustrations yet. If Saki's anything to go by, I'd say that this is also the case here. I'm hoping for a Citrus adaptation as well.

  8. It really is great and probably the best show to watch alongside Akuma no Riddle.
After watching ass-kicking girls, I just need my dose of cute yuri randomness~
