Works: 7/10
When it comes to this artist, you can be certain of two things: First, there will be sex, yuri sex to be exact. And second, the setting of the whole thing might be a little… let’s call it different. Well, the second point does not always apply, but stories about prehistoric yuri harems, for example, are not exactly what I see as a common thing.

Do I consider that as good or a bad thing? Well, in this case, it’s definitely a good thing. I mean, how often do we read about high school girls falling in love with each other? So reading about a love story that takes place in the 19thcentury about a mistress and her maid is kind of nice, for a change.

The work I’m talking about here is called Maid and Madam, and up until now, this, as well as the most recent work that Yuri-ism is working on, The Sea, You, and the Sun, are my two favorite works by this artist. Well, there are also works that I didn’t much enjoy. Crimson Fantasy, for example, is one of those works that I found to be a bit obscure, but maybe I just need to re-read it again in order to fully understand it.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure that in Mira’s case, there must be a lot of people who really love her (?) stories, but at the same time, I feel like this artist has a lot of haters, or at least people who don’t appreciate these stories as well. In my case, I think I made it pretty obvious which side I take in all this.

Art: 8/10
In Mira’s older works, the art felt a little empty to me. I don’t really know how to describe it any other way, so I hope you understand what I’m trying to say with this.

Anyway, I feel like Mira’s art style has really improved over the years, and especially the art in The Sea, You, and the Sun looks fantastic! It’s really nice to see artists improving, and while I would rate her older works’ art with a 7, at best. The most recent works definitely deserve a 9! I mean, just look at this beauty!

What an exotic beauty indeed

Yuri: 9.5/10
Just like mentioned above, pretty much all of Mira’s works are adult yuri ones in which the adult content is mostly quite heavy. Still, the sex doesn’t feel like it’s the only purpose of the manga, at least not in all of them. 😛

Well, in some one-shots this is unfortunately inevitable, but especially in The Sea, You, and the Sun the sex is even important for the story to work out like this.

Yup, that might be a little much for some people….

Total Enjoyment: 7.5/10
To be honest, when I read one of Mira’s works for the first time, I didn’t like it. The art was not the best, and I didn’t enjoy the characters at all. I think the first one I read was Just a Little”, which in my opinion, still is one of Mira’s worst works.

However, the more I read, the better it got, and just recently, I completely fell in love with Mira. I guess this is not an artist like Minase Ruruu, with whom you fall in love at first sight. In this case, you’ll probably need a little more time to appreciate what you’re reading.

  1. I wouldn't lie to you… anymore than I might have already. 😛

I'll cut back on watching so much anime and instead read plenty of yuri. That's as unfishy as it gets.

Maybe I'll eventually do with manga/doujinshi, what I'm doing with anime. 😉

  2. I do not lie to you on a regular basis. Any proof you have of these alleged lies would be appreciated. 😛

Any “lies” I have told surely weren't intentional, thus weren't really lies. 😉

I wanted to delete my MAL to show how serious I am, but they don't allow that. I'll stop using it and start deleting individual entries in the near future.

  3. To prove your trustworthiness, you don't have to delete your MAL account, all you have to do, is deleting your anime list so you can stop trying to beat me on there 😉

  4. Just read earth girls and while having a predictable premise the epilogue was hilarious because the chief being surrounded by women and crying over the one she could not have was hilarious

  5. I think many of her works are quite hilarious.
The Sea, You, And the Sun already made me laugh several times, and I usually don't laugh out loud while reading manga.
