First of all, thanks a lot for your help!

I was so surprised to see that so many of you took the time to do this. We even broke the limit of participants over night, which is really great, so again, thanks a lot 🙂

As for the results, even though most of it is probably something that’s only interesting for me, I still think it’s nice to share, so here you have some of the results of the first YuriReviews survey:

I was hoping to get more obvious answers for this, but this is pretty nice as well, since it tells me that you’re basically okay with anything. 😛

As for the question about the topics you want to see covered more, I got some more precise answers.

Surprisingly many of you asked for more visual novel reviews, and coincidentally, one of the next posts will be a guest review of the first Sengoku no Kuroyuri game. As you can see, I’m usually not the one reviewing visual novels, since most yuri ones are still not translated yet. This is exactly why I’m so happy to see that others who are able to enjoy Japanese games are willing to help fill this little gap.

Next, I asked how you’d rate the layout of the blog, based on three individual parts that I thought are most important to make a blog look good and also to make it work.

With this, I got the most helpful comments of any of the questions. Thanks to some of you, I noticed that my category system doesn’t work as nicely as I thought it would. The search function also suffers from that, making my blog a little hard to navigate through. I’m not quite sure how to get rid of this problem, but I’ll make some changes during the next few days and see how it works.

What I also read a lot is that I should change my header, since I’ve been using it for quite a while now. In this case, I had some problems deciding what to do.

On the one hand, I really love my header, simply because I love MadoHomu, and it was the first one that I managed to cut down into the right size without having to cut off half of the characters.

As you might have noticed already, I kept the header, but made it change randomly between 3 more headers that I made. So whenever you click on a new post the header will change and show another of the 4 possible versions I made. I’m actually quite happy with this little compromise.

Also, since a few of you wrote that the blog looks too plain, I changed the layout of it as well. I first wanted to go with two blogrolls on either side of the middle area, but I had to decide against it, since the header wouldn’t fit anymore if I did that. However, as requested, I changed the width, making the post area a little wider. I also changed the color pattern of the blog, making it a little darker, which I find more fitting for the different headers I implemented.

Some of you also suggested to use background pictures, but in this case, I don’t really want to do it, since the chances are high that it makes the blog look too cramped.

Lastly, I also asked for general changes you’d like to see, and while most people just told me to keep doing what I’m doing right now, the second most requested comment was to release new posts more frequently. I knew that this was coming, yet I can’t really change much about it. The problem here is not my lack of ideas for new posts. I’m actually in the process of writing about 3 reviews and 2 other posts. The problem is rather not having enough time to write, correct, and release them.

Someone also recommended me to just write less and post more frequently instead, but I don’t really want to leave out any parts of my posts, since I most likely wouldn’t be happy with the outcome anymore.

As it is right now, I usually take about 5 days for each and every post, but I try to be a little faster every now and then. Guest reviews are a big help in that department. 😛

As for the rest of the questions, I don’t have that much to say. Most of them were just for me to see how people found out about my blog and how often they come and visit. But have them anyway:

As a little side note, I will probably make a similar survey again some time, just so I can see how to improve and what people want to read about the most.
