It’s finally time for something really new, something that has never been done on this blog before, and something that involves you guys!
Let me present to you, YuriReviews first and only Yuri Tournament. With this, we will try to figure out which yuri character is the greatest and most loved yuri character of them all.
So what did we do?
• We came up with more than 100 yuri characters.
• We decided to only go for those characters that either show some strong lesbian tendencies, are undoubtedly lesbian, or at least have enough subtext going on to gain a lot of supporters in our community.
And what will you have to do?
Easy, you’ll simply have to vote for the characters that you think deserve the title of the best yuri character the most.
We will divide this competition into 9 individual posts. This post right here counts as Round 0. You can view it as something like a preliminary decision. You can see which characters will take part in the actual competition that follows and also tell us which characters you think are still missing. Those then might be added into the first round.
However, this is not all. In this round, you will decide which characters from shows/games like Love Live!, Touhou, Kantai Collection, Sono Hanabira, and Akuma no Riddle will make it to the first round. Since these shows/games feature way too many yuri-ish characters to add them all to the list, it’s probably a wiser decision to just add the most popular ones.
Just scroll down and click the group you want to vote for first.
In this round, you’ll be able to vote for as many characters as you want in each individual group. After about 5 days, the voting will be over, and the characters with the most votes will then move on to Round 1, leaving us with 128 characters in total.
From this point on, characters will compete against each another 1 vs 1. In the first round, we tried to pair up the characters so that they’ll compete against their significant other. Since there are also yuri-ish characters without a specific partner, they’ll compete against each other randomly.
The winning characters will move on to the next round, dividing the pool of characters in half with each new round. There will be 8 rounds in total, and you will only be able to leave one vote for each and every pair that competes each time.
So it should all look a little like this. Sanya and Eila were just used as examples.
The whole layout of this competition will be revealed when the 1st round takes place.

In case of Kiniro Mosaic, Rock will decide if they are really popular enough to be added.
The GoUsa characters might not be famous enough to be added and I think that the chances for Mami x Bebe to actually make it past Round 1 are pretty low too.
Yui and Azusa is a more known pairing that much is true. If there's still enough room, those two will be added. Same goes for some strike witches characters.
@Rock Totally forgot about Utena, Yuri and Lulu too. I think out of your 4 picks, Utena might be the most important character to add. We should keep that in mind for the next round.

Yuki Yuuna is probably not popular enough to be added. But just like in case of some Strike Witches characters, those will be added in case we have enough room left when this round is over.
Tamao was already overshadowed in the actual anime. I think it will be just the same in this tournament.

I'm hesitant to add Youko because she doesn't seem all that interested in Aya. It's more of a one-sided relationship. I actually meant to add Aya in there, but I just lost track of who I already added. Maybe I'll get around to putting her in….
Even though I love her, I don't think Karen's shown enough to be classified as a yuri character. And Honoka doesn't get enough screen time, so I think it would be better to add a more relevant character than her. 😛

Well, other than that… I'd say Hazuki Mina (Darker than Black), Valmet (Jormungand) and maybe Saber/Irisviel (Fate/Zero). Hazuki and Valmet are definitely gay, but I think the yuri goggles are needed for Saber/Irisviel… on a second thought though, these two might not be a good idea. lol

Im so glad Aya from Kiniro Mosaic is finally there. Is amazing how she's more popular as a yuri character above Alice and Shino that are like the main oficial couple of the show. lol. Kind of the oposite of Chinatsu from Yuri Yuri where she's the most obvious yuri character but we all want to forget about it. lmao. Also, since I see some yuri manga characters, how about Iono-sama? Is that manga really not that popular? I mean she had an harem of women! Also, Hiyoko and Sato-chan from the Hiiragi Yutaka one shots.

I see I wasnt the only one that felt like Nana from Kuchibiru Tameiki Sakurairo lacked certain gayness. hehe
