So, no one knows if Hibike! Will turn out yuri? Didn't they practically destroy that canon when they attempted to pair Kumiko with ~that one guy I forgot the name of because I care more for Kumiko x Reina than him~ or is it still not sure? 😮

I absolutely refuse to even consider KumiRei as a non-cannon ship.

In the manga, there is no yuri. So sadly, I think all we’re getting in the anime is yuri undertones because the teacher dude and the other dude you mentioned will be the way of their potential yuri romance. I was quite sad when I found out about it

On VN field year looks promising, so I hope that in anime there will be something too.
Airing now Koukaku no Pandora is nice, and I think that it's even a little more that standard subtexts. I'm curious if GATE ever gonna have yuri, or I just misunderstood Tuka (don't really need spoilerish answer for now, so i will wait and see).
Valkyrie Drive specials are what we thought they gonna be, so yuri is satisfying. Waiting for Lady Lady time.
I like Fate universe, so next Fate/kaleid is good news for me. More mana recharging is more than welcome, nad please Illya, drop the “I love oni-chan” act, embrace your inner yuri xD
Still have some hope for Hibike movie and season 2 … (HaruChika isn't even near this)
And like mentioned above, KanColle not only will get Movie, but season 2 too ! Shiping ships is fun ! (and I really want to see more characters, becouse every day i see a lot of good fan arts of girls i don't know without playing game)
+ in summer Love Live! Sunshine!! with Aqours team gonna air, so probably like first seasons it's gonna be base for a ton of doujins. Can't wait !
It would be nice, if they could animate Oomuro-ke (Yuru Yuri spin-off).
Hope for more yuri announcements later this year.

The source material for the series was queerbaiting with the Kumiko x Reina pairing. Some of the other pairings continue in some form but the canon primary romance is Kumiko and that guy who none of us can remember.

For anyone who hasn't watch any Pretty Cure series before, this year Precure (Maho Tsukai Precure/Maho Girl Precure) could potentially be a good entry…
Unlike past season (Happiness Charge and Go! Princess) where male love interest shows up in the front, this year Precure seems to focus on the two main character (like the Futari Wa) and from how the main character interact in the first episode (OP, ED, and the show itself) it seems to be close to DokiDoki level of yuri (although no Precure is able beat DokiDoki in term of yuri, yet)…
Some highlight I have when I watched the first episode:
– There are so many handholding
– There are so many moment where their face is close to one another
– The chemistry between the two main character is really good
– They have a kid by the end of the episode (<- Don't think any Precure ever do this before)

Koukaku no Pandora going real strong for Yuri this season, and sadly seems to be the only one as of now :c
For Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desu kara., the friend of the MC seems to be pretty clingy on the MC herself, but this anime is only 4 mins per episode, so it's hard to tell.
I watched about 2 episodes of AoKana and there seems to be a girl who's clung onto her senpai.
There seems to be quite a few to be looking out for Spring, too, somehow Shingeki no Bahamut: Manaria Friends gives off that kind of vibe, and I'm betting that shows like Sanshou Sanyou and Pan de Peace would end up something of the likes of GochiUsa if they don't end up being shorts.

Even though you'd like a naked Akagi on the cover more 😛

I only have my eyes set on that short Bahamut anime.
Though, I'm not sure we're actually talking about the same on. Well, whenever we'll get some more information on it, we'll add this one too.
We'll also keep an eye on the shows you listed, thanks~

I still haven't started watching any of the many Precure seasons, which is why I'm also not sure if we can actually list this as a yuriish show.
I guess the hand holding etc. can be viewed as yuri, though it's so subtle that even I can't really say that it's enough to be listed here.
LikeLike
Well, not all precure is equal (and they are different from one another), some is more yuri than the others with DokiDoki being the most yuri (it has characters say “aishiteru” on top of the usual “dai suki”, how many of the series above has that?), but past years precure that start with a duo always end up with the main characters have strong chemistry with one another, so I think this year precure will end up the same (especially if you see the OP and ED)…
Though I am not saying this to make you put it on the list, just to gives heads up to people if they haven't watched precure because there are so many episodes, there is a new precure started (it started last sunday) and it seems to be yuri friendly, so you can start watch it if you want…

Thanks for the information then:)
I guess, I really should start watching DokiDoki sometime, huh?

I'm likely super late on this but did I miss something in the first season of Shingeki no Kyojin as it pertains to yuri? I have a keen eye for most things with at least some yuri subtext, but I haven't even thought about shipping two girls in this….please tell me what to look for! The very thought of being able to ship a yuri couple in season two is just….too…exciting….(nosebleed)…..! Why is Shingeki no Kyojin Season 2 on this list? Does it have anything to do with the manga and any potentials there?
LikeLike
Hmm, it's hard in this case. Though, the manga makes it a little more obvious.
I guess the first season didn't have that many Christa x Ymir scenes, though they were there and many of the OVA's or specials that followed after the first season showed Ymir and Christa being lovey dovey as well.
I don't know how much we'll see in the 2nd season, though it certainly needs to be listed for its potential.

In Concrete Revolutio’s second season (episode 2) there’s a minor yuri moment when the agency’s director talks about an idol scandal and later one of the Angel Stars mentions she got kicked out of the band because she dated one of her bandmates, which later commited suicide. That’s probably gonna be the only yuri moment we’ll get in the series but it was very fitting with the whole outcast theme.

I haven’t been back here in awhile, the list must of have included AoT in an earlier version of this post. Don’t see it now. I mean if you read the manga, yeah just that one chapter would be the only yuri of what we expect season two to be, but whatever. Real reason to post again is for the newer additions. I’ve commented in this manner before, but my prediction for this new series for Love Live! will most likely be a pseudo-polygamy just as the first one was. Also, now that my memory has been jogged a little, I think I went straight from your KanColle review to watching it and seeing that movie listed for this year makes me happy.

I will vote no doubt Shumatsu no Izetta. Also, I will believe that this is an anime full story yuri-relationship between the two protagonists. And it will not suffer the same failed as a Cross Ange, where a double Souma eclipsed full yuri-story between a princess and those who want to survive in a cruel world. Besides the theme the Second World War will certainly be interesting.

Interesting year. there are some thing that i’m waiting for (amanchu, Illya, LL sunshine, and some other), some that picked my curiosity (regalia, suumatsu no izetta), some that i’ll drop without reserve (euphonium, ange virge).
oh, well, there are also things that i’ve already watched. And given that i didn’t drop them, it means that i found them good (haifuri, pandora)
Special mention1: Symphogear. I hope this time they hired a wiriter that knows how to do his job.
Special mention 2: Vivid. I have a inner conflict about this one. While i enjoyed the story of vivio and firiends, I’d like much more to see our beloved white demon back in action.

No interest in Euphonium? Well okay, the queerbaiting might stop and the hetero relationship might kick in, so I understand.
Though Ange Vierge seems to have some decent yuri so far~

Yes, Euphonium is a rage quit! And it’s sad because the first sesason was good.
As per Ange virge, i’d like to watch it, but being me a good old pervert, i cannot stand all those censor laser beams. No, really, it’s not for the ecchi-ness, they are really an eye sore. So much – for me – to ruin the show. Weeeell, in any case i’m the type that wait till a serie is completa before watching it, so i still have a couple of weeks to decide what to do.
