What a great start! Though, now the real deal will begin, and we’ll start with the first round of votes right away! Just like last time, we have 96 participating scenes. Each and every round, pairs of kissing scenes will compete, leaving us with 6 rounds and a final round with 3 kisses competing for the title of the Best Yuri Kiss in Anime History.

So it begins! this is going to be one epic and hot yuri tournament! 😀 so many awesome kisses! only thing is I hope I am choosing the right kisses for shows with multiple kisses from the same couple. I want to vote for the kiss when Himeko confesses her love at the end not the one when Chikane kisses an unconscious Himeko. >.< that said I cant wait to see what kisses make it to the next round! some of these were painfully hard, but others were super easy! 😛

It was just too perfect! seeing Himeko kissing Chikane so deep and passionately was amazing! and seeing Chikane become putty in her hands was the best! XD the Strawberry Panic kisses were epic also! the Shizuma x Nagisa pool kiss is legendary and it has to move ahead in the tournament! I dont think the Amane x Hikari kisses will go further, they just werent that great. plus Yaya should have been with Hikari! and the Yaya x Hikari kiss was hot! 😀 why must yuri anime give us so many amazing yuri kisses?

Ah I remember Queen’s Blade. Echidna was probably one of my favorite characters, helps she’s the only canon lesbian in the series along with her apprentice, and a complete badass. Even if she is a rapist…..

And it’s on! I’m not a fan of the “pair the same series” clause, since it kind of detracts from the likes of Sakura Trick, Valkyrie Drive etc. I mean, Kannazuki’s “Happy Birthday” kiss is easily semi-final material, but is instead going to be curb stomped. Just nitpicking though: prepare the nosebleeds!

Oh wow that was so damn hard.
Quite a huge range here for me. There’s plenty of shows/couples/kisses I love, plenty I hate, and plenty I don’t have any opinion on whatsoever since I haven’t watched the series the kiss/couple is from.
But I basically decided which kiss I preferred from a couple I didn’t have any opinion or attachment to based on aesthetic presentation (lighting was a big factor tbh).
Here’s to hoping that one day NanoFate, HibiMiku, and YuunaTougou will finally get to kiss as well and end up on this voting chart. XD

Anyway, you know what? It was good. Ok, not “anime of the century” material, but good enough for a marathon.
If i have to point out something, the girls are a bit too much “happy go lucky” for almost the entire serie. I mean, that went like
“hi, i’m a normal teenager girl”,
“no you are a hero with superpowers and you will have to save the world or die trying”
“oh. Ok.” 😀
Totally personal note: characters style reminded me so much AnaKris works (you can find something on dynasty) that for a moment i wondered if she were in the production team.

Agreed, seeing Himiko kiss Kaon to calm her down was funny and cute as hell! but the kiss I want to see win is the first one we saw in the series between these two! such romance and passion in that kiss! seeing Himiko on the offensive to shower Kaon with love and kisses is the best thing ever! 😀

At a minimum we need episode numbers, and ideally timestamps, so we can actually find and review the kisses in question. Youtube video links work as well, of course.
Half the fun of a comp like this is having an excuse to re-watch the content. But not many people have the time to search through a whole series to find those specific scenes.

As much as we’d like to make this tournament as fun and also as perfect as possible, some things would be too time consuming for a team consisting of merely two people that can only work on the blog when they actually get back from work in the evening.
In some cases you can’t find the kisses on Youtube, which is unfortunate. Though, doing a quick search on the internet, like “Anime XY (yuri) kiss” is usually enough to either find a video of it, or find someone talk about the episode the kiss was featured in.
In case of Sakura Trick and Valkyrie Drive you can also go back to Round 0 we posted last week. We added Youtube kiss compilations so you could tell the kisses apart better~

I just discussed it with Rock The Vogt and we came to the conclusion, that after this round we’ll post today, there will not be too many kisses left, so from this point on, or rather starting from Round 3, we will try to add in links to either a video or some other information about the kiss.
Since we’ll be left with only the most popular ones anyway, this might not be too hard to do.

I think I still don’t fully get it, though this tournament is only about Yuri kisses, so no matter the circumstances those kisses happened in, they will be listed. That’s pretty much all.
I mean it’s up to you guys to decide which ones will make it to the next round, so just vote against the ones you don’t like.

You are right that a kiss that happens between two girls might not actually be of romantic nature if that makes sense. Though yuri means girlxgirl, so it’s basically kisses between girls. I highly doubt they ones that don’t really have any feelings involved will get very far, though I still think it’s only right to add them too.
