Yuri Bingo – The Yuri Drinking Game

yuri bingo layout KopieThere are admittedly quite a few of these games around, but what would YuriReviews be without its own, right?

So we decided to put together some tropes we think happen quite a lot in yuri anime, as well as in yuri manga and make a yuri bingo game.

You can now either play this game as a game of bingo, or let’s make things a little more interesting and add “an alcoholic twist” to it~

Hence, you can play this game as a drinking game.

The rules are simple:

  • Get yourself your favorite alcoholic drink
  • Play a random episode of a yuri or yuri-ish anime (works with manga too)
  • Every time one of the tropes actually unfolds on the big screen, you take a sip
  • Cross out the tropes that you already had to drink to
  • Repeat as many times as you want

Or how about the hardcore version of the Yuri Drinking Game? In this one, instead of sips, you take shots – depending on the anime that you chose, you might have to stop after doing this for one episode though. 😛

Yuri Bingo

*Drink twice if the incest happens between sisters – Drink three times if it’s twins*

Disclaimer: We’re not encouraging underage readers to play this game as the yuri drinking game. Please don’t drink if you’re underage.

  1. Haha love these fun little posts you do! this seems like a very dangerous game to play with certain yuri anime. Kannazuki no Miko, Strawberry Panic, Sakura Trick and Yamibo seem like they would be the worst offenders! But Lena already knows the effects of Kannazuki and Strawberry now doesnt she? 😀 I would play this more as bingo or play with a non alcoholic drink, im not a drinker myself. 😛

    • Haha, well I can’t help but want my drinks every now and then… or well sometimes a little more often 😀
But you can of course play this game many other ways, be it with non alcoholic drinks, as a game of bingo or even as a punishment game where you have to do something embarrassing for example whenever a trope happens on screen 😀

  2. That “Blonde and dark haired pair-up” is so pervasive throughout the genre, I’ve even fallen into that trap without realizing it! In all honesty it’s probably so you can recognize the two protagonists better, even though I never thought about that with my characters… Some things may just be instinctual, I guess.

    • You often see light hair characters in manga if they’re planned to be on a lot of pages because it’s much faster to draw!

Otherwise, yes the differentiation is probably the other most important aspect.

      • Actually I find the opposite, with lighter hair I have to add more detail, with black hair I just make the outline, color it in then make the light reflections. Of course I work mainly with black and white, so that may be a factor.
