Great news, everyone. We’ve got the first giveaway of the year for you, and it’s none other than recently released yuri visual novel Heart of the Woods by Studio Élan~
To enter the giveaway, you just have to leave your email address right here in this survey.
Two copies are available right now, and it’s all thanks to Studio Élan themselves for providing these two copies for us~
If you enjoyed the game or are interested in playing it, be sure to follow their official Twitter account right here.
Find out more about the game over at their official website or on Steam.
Our review of the game will follow next weekend, right after, we’ll send out the copies to the two winners. As a quick spoiler, though, I loved Heart of the Woods quite a lot, and you’re seriously missing out if you haven’t heard of this one yet~
Next up, we have MangaGamer’s licensing survey for 2019. As per every year, us fans get a chance to name our desires and point out what exactly we want to see localized.
As we’ve seen in the past, taking this survey and showing some love for some yuri titles actually does help quite a lot and already got us some unexpected localizations. So this year as well, I would like to encourage you to take the survey, and don’t be shy to list all the yuri VNs you want to see get an English translation in the future.
For example, how about adding more Sono Hanabira titles? Or how about White Robe Love Syndrome by Kogado Studio? Or Seisai no Resonance by Yatagarasu? There’s seriously still so many great ones to choose from, and all we have to do is list them on the survey.
If you’re interested, please take the survey right here.
Last but not least, we have some other news about yet another (possibly) yuri visual novel. This one seems to be yuri-ish, but is not yet confirmed to be. Well, it’s from some of the same people who worked on Highway Blossoms, so I guess you’re more than allowed to keep your hopes up.
The visual novel is called National Park Girls, and it’s advertised to be an educational, cute, and exciting adventure type of game by Studio Coattails and published by none other than Sekai Project. Here’s the synopsis.
All Eve ever wanted was to protect and preserve the land, but after five years of being a ranger in Yosemite National Park, she’s just about ready to throw in the towel. The people are careless, her co-workers are annoying, and thanks to an increasingly tight budget she can hardly do her job. Fed up and burned out, Eve lashes out, but after being transferred to a remote cabin post in return, she only finds herself more uncertain of the value of being a ranger. Soon after arriving, three strange girls corner her in the cabin. Not only do they claim to live there, but they also say they’re the manifestations of Zion, Yellowstone, and Yosemite National Parks! Are these girls really who they say they are? Why is Yosemite so obsessed with her research? And why does one of them have a volcano on their head? Follow Eve as she gets closer with these spritely cuties that put the “natural” in “supernatural,” and maybe even discovers a new kind of love for the parks.
Features:
- Multiple episodes to enjoy! (Please note only episode 1 is available at this time!)
- Adorable character art and CG art from Satchely!
- Gallery to view CG art and guest art
- A wonderful original soundtrack
- FULL English voice acting!
- National parks come to life as cute girls!
Find out more about the game either on Steam or by following their official Twitter account right here.
Heart of the woods was absolutely wonderful, even if I wished the trans representation was done a little uhh, better – still an easy recommendation and definitely a studio to keep an eye on in the future!

I know right? We hear about it in like one sentence and that’s it 😀
I guess I wanted some more story or just to see it mentioned some more.

I seriously hope the rest of the Sono Hanabira games get licensed! They cant just tease us with a game in the very middle of the series and ignore all the other entries before and after! thats almost criminal! 😛
National Park Girls looks weirdly interesting so that looks like another visual novel I need to keep an eye on. And I am just finding this out but we now have a new yuri anime to look forward to with Fragtime! 😀

More awesome news is the upcoming release of a post apocalyptic survival adventure game called Jinrui no Minasama e (To All of Mankind). The fact the game follows five women alone with each other in an empty world would seem promising enough but add in the fact that on 4chan /u/, users have posted about some of the developers talking about the game on twitter and the word “yuri” has been thrown around! 😀 The trailer of the game sure shows some promise on that front so this is one to keep an eye on for sure! Here is more info on the game:

Seems like 2019 is starting to go full force with yuri! And to that I say:

If a slightly older yuri manga like Fragtime can get an anime, then who knows what else we can get! There may be hope for for any number of Morinaga Milk, Amano Shuninta, Morishima Akiko manga and so much more to be adapted! 2019 sure is becoming a year of surprises and I cant wait to see what is around the corner! 😀

Its funny that you mention Seisai no Resonance, I actually included that exact game in my answer because…I JUST WANT TO PLAY IT SO BADLY. It has all qualities of a good yuri visual novel. Which means the absence of any disgusting tags while also offering an intriguing story and characters.
