Yuri News Update: March 2019 – Part II

We got a lot of news to cover again, so let’s get right to it!

flag time yuri manga sato

Let’s start with what surprised me—and probably a lot of other people—the most this month: We’ll get another yuri anime adaptation, and it’s going to be a work that I had almost forgotten about, Fragtime by Sato. In case you’ve been living under a rock, here’s the synopsis.

What would you do if you could stop time? Moritani for one is using her unusual ability to stop time for three minutes a day to observe the people around her. One day, she chooses to “observe” class idol Murakami’s panties—only to find herself in a very compromising situation when her classmate turns out to be immune to her power.

More or less, the news came as a huge surprise, seeing that the manga is several years old, and we admittedly didn’t hear that much about the manga, nor the author Sato, in the meantime.

Seeing this news pop up now is quite big, but we unfortunately don’t have much to work with just yet. Well, you can find the post about the upcoming anime adaptation below.

We also already have an official website available for it.

Moving on, we got a new, promising-looking teaser for the upcoming new Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica spin-off, Magia Record: Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica Gaiden.

We unfortunately don’t know exactly when the anime will air, but it’s said to air this year already. Time to rewatch the anime and movies again~

Next up, as mentioned in previous News Updates, we’ll soon see more of Strike Witches again too. By “soon”, I actually mean pretty soon, as the first episode of Strike Witches: 501 Butai Hasshin Shimasu! will already air on April 9th of this year!

As we’re eagerly waiting for it to finally air, we were blessed with yet another promo video.

Oh man. We’re having a lot of anime news to cover this time. The list goes on, and we’re glad to hear that the new OVA of Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya, namely Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya: Prisma Phantasm, will premiere in theaters on June 14th!

Yet again, here you have the newest promo video.

Last but not least, thanks to Chimekolover88, we discovered a new, VERY promising looking survival-adventure game for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game is called Jinrui no Minasama e (To All of Mankind) by Acquire, and it will launch in Japan on May 30th.

Unfortunately, this will be a Japanese release with no information on a possible English translation. However, as we’re seeing more and more translations of Japanese titles lately, I think it’s okay to keep our hopes up for this one. I certainly will!

Check out the promo video right here.

    • Haha, it certainly is a great time to be a yuri fan right now. After the times we mostly had Visual Novel news to cover, it’s finally time for some big anime news again!
Well, I do hope that Fragtime won’t end up with super short episodes, but let’s just see.

      • yep me too, if fragtime is super short eps it would be disappointing but i do have hope that it will be full length eps since yuri animes have been doing really good as of recent since the rise of citrus so i look forward to fragtime!

  2. Wohoo, I got mentioned in a post! 😀 But all this recent yuri news is so awesome! Since Fragtime has been over for a long time I really hope it gets a full length anime series instead of those shorter 15 minute or less adaptations. They have to do the series right and give it the time it deserves.

That new slice of life Strike Witches looks really fun and the art style really fits the type of genre it is. Can’t wait until April 9th comes around! The witches have been gone for too long!

I am really hoping To All of Mankind gets released worldwide and winds up being yuri. A cute survival adventure game like that would be a day one buy for me and the whole premise and the story and characters just come across as too cute! 😀 The yuri gods are spoiling us way too much and I like it!

  3. So, they looked back through the yuri catalogue from the past half decade or so and chose… Frag Time. Okay. I like that they’re at least looking at past titles rather than just picking the most popular among currently running series, but I’m really curious why they chose Frag Time.

  4. I am super excited for the Fragtime adaption, I enjoyed the manga a lot, I hope if anything its at least going to be 15min eps minimum. Don’t know how I feel about the new art style for Strike Witches, but I love all the characters and their relationships so I’m sure I’ll get used to it quickly. If anything it seems like those eps might be shorter than usual.
