Yuri Anime 2019

yuri anime 2019

Just like our Yuri Anime 2013, Yuri Anime 2014, Yuri Anime 2015, Yuri Anime 2016, Yuri Anime 2017, and Yuri Anime 2018 lists, this one will also feature all the yuri shows that will air in 2019. Since it’s not even 2019 yet, this list is still in progress and will be updated whenever there are new shows to add. If you feel like we missed something, feel free to name your additions~

It should be noted that neither of the Sailor Moon movies have definite release dates, so it’s more of an assumption that they’ll release this year, but we felt like including them anyway. And it’s probably wishful thinking to trust that Hibike Euphonium! won’t totally abandon any and all subtext, but let’s go into this with some optimism! 😛

Yuri Anime 2015 [Completed]

Just like my Yuri Anime of 2014 list, and the new Yuri Anime 2016 list, this one will also feature all the yuri shows that will air this year. Since it’s only the beginning of 2015, this list is still in progress and will be updated whenever there are new shows to add. Yuri Anime 2014 [Completed]

Since my Yuri Anime List of 2013 kind of sucks, I decided to make a better one for 2014. Right now, I can of course only list the few shows with yuri or at least yuri subtext that are either airing right now or that are announced to air sometime this year. So this list will be updated whenever I see a new yuri show or hear about one from other people.

Still, since it’s just impossible for me to watch each and every anime that is airing, I’d also appreciate if you’d just tell me whenever you feel like something in my list is missing. Finally, I’d like to tell you that I’ll add a “Yuri Rating” to each and every show I’ll list. This will be my personal impression of how much yuri the show has to offer, so if I still haven’t watched the show that is listed, I’ll add this rating a little later. If you suggest a show, it is always appreciated if you could give the yuri rating a score from 1-10.

With that said, let’s move on to the list, and even if it’s just the beginning of 2014, it’s already quite huge~

Yuri Anime 2013 [Completed]

I’m a little disappointed with the recent amount of yuri in anime. I mean, it has never been much to begin with, but it also doesn’t seem to rise in quantity at all. Series with the main focus on a girl-girl relationship also won’t appear very often, so in 2013 thus far, I can mostly present you some anime with some subtle yuri undertones.

The series with probably the most “yuri potential” would be Vividred Operation, providing us with scenes like this.

vividred operation
Aoi (left) and Akane (right)

In Oshima, the happy, carefree 14-year-old Akane Isshiki lived a poor but well-loved life together with her reliable little sister, Momo, who does all the housework, and her grandfather, Kenjirou, a genius inventor who only created useless devices. When the weather is clear, they can see the artificial island, Blue Island, across the sea. In the center of that island rises the revolutionary Manifestation Engine, a discovery that solved the world’s energy problems, and leads to some major problems. (Source: Anime News Network)
