I’m finally back again~
Actually, I’ve been back in Germany for about a week now, as some of you might have noticed, since I started replying to the comments again.
Since it was, yet again, a trip to none other than Japan, I thought why not tell you about it? Some of you might be interested, so there you go~
First of all, it was “only” a 10-day-long trip, just like we did last year as well. Well, since this is still an anime-related blog, I’m gonna skip the parts about the amazing food, scenery, and tourist spots, in general, and get right to the things you might find a little more important.
For me, this trip was, of course, mostly a way to find all the yuri stuff that I couldn’t get pretty much anywhere else, as well as finding new yuri stories to read. As you may know, I don’t speak much Japanese, so right now, it’s more like I’m just looking at the pictures of the manga and doujinshi I bought, but I might have a solution for that, since I have a few friends who could translate some works and let me then edit them for you to see as well. Just to get you hyped a little, we might start working on the following titles (and many more):
As mentioned in our last News Update, I’ll be off to Japan from the 23rd of December to the 4th of January.
For these 2 weeks, Rock The Vogt will take over and reply to your comments, questions, or any other requests. Though, to make things a little more exciting while I’m away, we decided to spice things up by repeating what we did last year – the Review Fest, as I like to call it.
It’s been a while since the last News Update, so we have a lot to get to this time around. Let’s get started~
Starting off with everyone’s new favorite yuri
hentai anime, Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid Specials are on the way. They’re mini OVA episodes that will come bundled with the Blu-ray and DVD releases of Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid. Volume 1 goes on sale on December 18th in Japan, so until Volume 6 is released in May 2016, we’ll have even more Mirei x Mamori goodness to feast our eyes on. It’s kind of disappointing that they’re only “mini” episodes, but let’s hope we see even more yuridiculous moments with these specials.
Also being announced a while back was plenty of Hibike! Euphonium news to get excited about. A recap movie, Hibike! Euphonium Movie: Kitauji Koukou Suisougaku-bu e Youkoso, as well as a second season have been given the greenlight. The recap movie is fine, but what’s really exciting is news of another season. Everyone fell in love with KumiRei, and after hearing all of the complaints voiced by the legions of yuri fans, let’s hope KyoAni comes to their senses and gives us what we really want. The movie is currently set for April 2016, while season two’s premiere is yet to be determined. If you can’t quite wait that long, don’t forget that an unaired episode (Hibike! Euphonium: Kakedasu Monaka) is being released alongside the seventh Blu-Ray and DVD volumes, which hit Japanese shelves on the 16th.
As if I hadn’t talked about it enough already, I’ll now close the topic by giving some general information on what happened during these 10 days I spent in Tokyo.
First of all, as many of you already know, I didn’t go alone. Mai volunteered to go with me, though I’m not sure whether she was actually regretting it midway through. 😛
We also met Marcel, a friend who traveled through Japan during that time, so we only spent around 4 days with him, but damn, he was such a great help that I just have to thank him again for everything!
Coming to the actual trip, we only visited some places in Tokyo. 10 days was just not enough to go anywhere else, especially since Comiket already kept us occupied for 3 days.
So what did we see? Our hotel was located in Shinjuku, which is probably the best district to just get around in Tokyo. We visited Shibuya around 4 times. It’s definitely the best place to do some shopping, and I think I did a great job when it came to that!

My trip to Japan has come to an end and I’m already back in Germany. Since I still have some more days until I have to go to work again, I’ll have enough time to talk about the trip to my heart’s content.
Though, to not post entries that are too long, I’m gonna divide my final summary of the trip into two parts. The first one is going to be this post, in which I will solely talk about Comiket, while the next one will be about the rest of the trip. With that said, let’s start right away.
This year’s winter Comiket was held from December 28th to the 30th. Our little group, consisting of 3 people, was present on all three days. For those that don’t know, day 1 focuses on anything anime and manga-related, day 2 is all about Touhou and Kantai Collection and day 3 focuses on original works, as well as adult doujinshi.
I read a lot of guides, warnings, and survival tips before going there, and thanks to all of these posts, I was mildly afraid of what was going to happen. Most people said that it was hell going there, since you have to wait in lines for hours, people will just push you around because it’s so stuffed in all the halls, and some even said that you won’t get anything unless you have at least 2 other people with you that you can simply send away to get your stuff.
For me, the best time of the year is definitely around Christmas. Not only do we usually get some days off from work, there’s also Christmas (or whatever you’re celebrating, if you’re celebrating anything at all) and even New Year’s.
Though, what I think makes this time an infinite amount of times better than it already is, is the fact that Comiket takes place between Christmas and New Year’s. This time, as many of you already know, I’m going to celebrate all of these holidays in Japan, which is why I’ll get the chance to visit Comiket and get loads of stuff without having to buy it online, wait for it for a month to arrive, and pay three times the price it actually costs.
So for given reasons, I will now talk about the things I’m looking forward to the most in the upcoming Comiket event.
This time, I have something really exciting to announce.
In a few days, I’ll be on my very first vacation, and it’ll be to Tokyo! We’ll only stay for roughly 10 days, but we’ll be there over New Year’s, which is already exciting, and we’ll also be there for Comiket. *squeal*
As you’ve might already expected, I’m gonna get as many yuri manga, doujinshi, and basically anything yuri I can find, which is hopefully going to be a lot! But let me tell you all about it in my “Anticipating Comiket 87” post that’s going to follow in a few days.
