It feels like it’s been forever since we reviewed Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha: Reflection, but it’s finally time to complete the story that started in that movie. So was it worth the wait? That depends… 😛
Since it’s been a while since our last Yuri News Update, there’s a lot to cover this time around. Let’s get started~
First up, some much-needed
good great news in this yuri anime drought we’re suffering from.
Looks like we have another anime adaptation to look forward to, come November. That’s when Flag Time will grace us with its presence in Japanese theaters, a few years after the manga finished its run. The OVA comes courtesy of Tear Studio, and it reunites the director, animation director, and composer of Asagao to Kase-san., so needless to say, it appears this OVA is in good hands.
I think we can all agree that we NEED some more yuri anime this year, so even though November seems far off, this is still very welcome news. This seems like a bit of an odd choice to adapt into an anime—considering what other great stuff is out there—but at least the story is interesting, so my hopes remain pretty high that this will turn out to be one of the yuri anime highlights of the year~
Just as I updated my Top 10 Favorite Yuri Characters, I’ll continue with this one that I originally posted many, many years ago.
In this case as well, quite a few things changed, and we have some newcomers as well. Please enjoy, and tell us about your Top 10 in the comments as well~
Admittedly, Cross Ange didn’t end the way we all wanted it to. Hilda didn’t get her much deserved girlfriend, and Ange ended up with Tusk, a male character. In terms of yuri, this couldn’t have gone any more wrong. Though, the yuri we got through the rest of the show probably made up for the horrible outcome, if only a little.
So, basically, the whole show involves some steamy yuri sex scenes, some kisses, and even some true romance, despite the fact that Cross Ange often didn’t depict the yuri taking place as something happening out of the characters’ love for one another. In the end, there were still enough yuri characters left, and if we now add the fact that the whole plot of this show, as well as pretty much all of the important characters, were pretty damn awesome, then this makes for a damn great anime, if you ask me.
Oh man, it’s been a while since I made one of these. Well, instead of posting an all-new Top 10 list, I thought about updating all my existing ones, starting with my Top 10 Favorite Yuri Characters. As it turns out, quite a few of my picks from years ago still stay in my Top 10. However, there are quite a few newcomers as well. I hope you enjoy, and if you feel like it, leave your own Top 10 in the comments~
The award for the hottest lady-killer definitely goes to Shizuma. And even though I absolutely can’t stand people who play with the feelings of others, I can’t really get myself to dislike her. Also, it’s thanks to her that we got to see so many yuri kisses, or at least all these great moments in which kisses almost happened.
Just like our Yuri Anime 2013, Yuri Anime 2014, Yuri Anime 2015, Yuri Anime 2016, and Yuri Anime 2017 lists, this one will also feature all the yuri shows that will air in 2018. Since it’s not even 2018 yet, this list is still in progress and will be updated whenever there are new shows to add. If you feel like we missed something, feel free to name your additions~
After three seasons of Nanoha reviews, you thought we were done with the series? Ha! Good one. You can’t have a long-running franchise without a spin-off, so enter Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid. With more NanoFate mama action, this has to be good, right? Right?! Ummm…
