What else is there to say other than, praise the yuri lord, or well goddess who granted us this wish!
Now what’s next, Bloom Into You? Let the right people see the results of our last Yuri Tournament… just saying 😛
Well anyway, I can’t find anything I’d have to add to what OG already summed up perfectly, so there you go~
Well, okay, one more thing: I’M HYPED!!!!!
I’m in love with this~
Also, I totally agree with OG, we now need a full anime adaptation of this!
The wait is over doods and peeps. The highly anticipated Kase-san animated short has premiered. It is a 5-minute long music video and my reaction is a simple one: Give us an anime adaptation. Seriously. Use the same animation quality in this music video and we are good to go.
It’s time for another News Update. This time we’re focusing on anime news instead of the typical visual novel news that has recently invaded all of our news posts.
Let’s start right away with some more or less sad news concerning the anime adaptation of Kase-san. As it turns out, what was advertised with the mysterious poster that the whole community talked about a week ago wasn’t in fact a full anime adaptation, but instead “only” a short Youtube video. Still, I don’t think we should lose hope just yet. If this video—or more like the manga—proves to be or get popular enough, who knows, maybe we’ll still get an anime sooner or later.
If you haven’t already seen the preview, you can watch it right here:
If Kase-san is going to get an anime adaptation, I’m probably going to cry sweet tears of happiness~
Though, yeah we don’t know for sure, but it sure looks like it. How exciting?!
Well, for now, let OG explain to you how he came to this assumption~
Update: It’s happening!! Kase-san is already listed on MAL: https://myanimelist.net/anime/35159/Asagao_to_Kase-san
When I talked about the double whammy announcement of Citrus and Netsuzou Trap both getting anime right HERE I had a “fiiiine” and “special” reaction for both respectively. Recently I posted a tweet on my Twitter page briefly mentioning one manga series in particular. One series I would LOVE to see get animated. I do not often make posts about simple posters and little else. Look what happened after the supposed Virgins’ Empire anime was announced. I think it’s been nearly two years and we’ve heard nothing ever since. HOWEVER, I woke up this morning and once again my loyal fans and Yuri Council associates have shared the following news…
Could it be?
- Director: Takuya Satou
- Key Animation: Kyuta Sakai
Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you something…Kase-san is one of my favorite yuri manga of all time. It’s in my top 10. It’s in my list of…

I’ve already made a similar post to this, talking about what kind of yuri manga I’d want to see animated and which manga combinations I think would make the perfect yuri anime. But since this post is already pretty old, I decided to update it, which is why I’ll now present to you my Top 10 Yuri Manga that should be made into Anime.
As always, this is only my opinion, so feel free to tell me what you think is missing in this list~
And before people point it out, not all of my picks are Manga, there are some games added as well.
As great as the few Touhou anime projects are, they are still not what I really want to see.
You have the choice between fanmade projects that are either not voiced or that come with art and animation that is simply not as satisfying as we’d want it to be. Furthermore, the few episodes we’ve already gotten don’t really come with a plot that can be used for a whole anime, and that’s something I really don’t understand, given the numerous characters and their individual background stories. Honestly, I think the possibilities for a Touhou anime are simply endless.
Especially since we’ve now also gotten a Kantai Collection anime, I demand to see something similar for this game as well!
It’s almost been a year since I made my first Top 10 list of this kind. If you wanna read it, click here. During that time, some manga came to an end, others started out, and still others surprised me by turning out really well. In short, a lot of things changed, and instead of just changing my previous list, I think it’s more convenient to just make a new one.
Many of the already listed manga will appear in this list again, but a whole bunch of new titles will finally appear too. 2013 has fortunately been a year full of great yuri manga, and while I think this will continue in 2014, we can probably already say that 2014 is also the year of great yuri anime, but that’s another story.
For now, let’s start the list.
Title: The Flower and the Star
Author: Suzukin Kario
Genre: Comedy, Drama, School Setting, Yuri
Description: Hanai is a junior higher and the best at table tennis. She’s never lost, and she’s won many tournaments, but after some freshman she’s never heard of beats her like it was nothing, she starts losing every game after that and she can’t get rid of that feeling of defeat. Now it’s her first day of high school and she’s decided to quit table tennis and live an ordinary high school life, but on the first day, she runs into the very girl that first defeated her. It turns out that she’s also quit table tennis, but this girl always has a cold expression on her face and Hanai can’t help but feel that this girl is always looking down on her and trying to mess up her perfect high school life. One day the girl falls asleep in class, and Hanai reaches over to wake her up. As she does so, the girl, still half asleep, looks up at her with a smile and almost kisses her. The girl later tells Hanai that she was having a dream about her, but Hanai coldly brushes it off thinking she’s just messing with her and walks away – as the girl behind her looks down while blushing…. — Source
Chapters: 11 Chapters + Special
Scanlation Group: Yuri Project
I never thought a manga about table tennis could be this good, but then again, table tennis is not the main them of the story, the relationship between Hanai und Haru is. To be honest, I’d rather see Haru with her childhood friend Chika, and that’s probably the main reason why this one didn’t score higher.
Since it’s the end of the year already, I thought it would be a good idea to just list my personal highlights of 2013 and kind of draw a final conclusion to see how “successful” this year has been for us yuri fans.
