Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon is the sequel of Nights of Azure. You can read the review I wrote on the original here.

If you haven’t played the first one, then I highly recommend starting there for two reasons. The main reason is that the first one is a piece of art, through gameplay, battle system, graphics, and especially the story. It will forever stay as one of my favorite games of all time. Sadly, it by far exceeds the sequel in every aspect. The second reason is that there are some characters and references from the first game that will make your experience in the second game more enjoyable, however the truth is you won’t miss out on any of the story if you don’t. I will try not to make this review solely a comparison with the first game, so I’ll only say one more time that I highly recommend the first game because it is so much better… play it!

Yuri News Update – October 2017

Get ready for a BIIIIIIG news update. And guess what, it’s only about yuri visual novels~

Oayy1E.png

Let’s start right away with what got me most excited this week, Blackberry Honey, Ebi-Hime’s new, NSFW yuri visual novel about maids.

In case you don’t know this one already, here’s the plot summary:

Set in England during the mid-19th century, Blackberry Honey is a tale about maids, music, and unexpected romance.

The story begins when our heroine, Lorina Waugh, is fired from her previous position as a maid in the stately home of Hartwell. With a large family back in Liverpool to support and a string of unsavoury comments circulating about her rather sudden dismissal, Lorina’s search for a new place of employment leads her to Bly.

Forced to work for fourteen hours a day, with little chance to rest, Lorina is bullied by the senior maids and, most embarrassingly of all, by the twelve-year-old daughter of the Lennard family, Lady Constance.

One of the only maids who deigns to speak to Lorina is the mysterious Taohua – but Lorina wishes she wouldn’t. Despite her lowly status, Taohua has her own private bedroom, never goes to church with the rest of the servants, and rarely interacts with anybody. Her aloof, almost cat-like personality, coupled with her peculiar complexion, eyes, and name, have inspired more than a few rumours around the Shropshire countryside that she might be a witch.

Lorina knows she should keep her distance from Taohua, and she wants to most desperately… but maybe there’s a pinch of truth to all the rumours, because she soon finds herself under the older woman’s spell.

[Guest Review] Nights of Azure – by NotATsun

nights of azureNights of Azure is an action RPG with hack n’ slash and creature collecting elements. I can tell you that it was absolutely a wonderful surprise for a yuri game! It follows the journey of two girls, Arnice and Lilysse. As the protagonist, you take on the role of Arnice, a Holy Knight (and yet half-demon) who works for the Curia and is destined to protect the Saint from harm. Lilysse is the Saint—who is tragically destined to sacrifice herself in order to seal away the Night Lord who rules the land. The storyline is actually quite in-depth, without spoiling the story itself, I can at least say that it follows Arnice and her decisions to either save the world or her love, Lilysse. The game has a total of 8 chapters and 5 different endings that depend on your choices throughout the game and your affection levels with Lilysse.

Guest Entry: Recent Visual Novel & Translation Stuffs (2015 Summer) – by Ibara Kazura

Ibara here!  I’ll be presenting Recent Yuri Visual Novel News~

Before we start, for those who don’t know the term “Yurige”, it is the Japanese Yuri equivalent to the “galge” abbreviation for “regular” visual novels. I’ll be using the term ‘cause I’m more used to it than typing “Yuri VN” all the time. Also, although the title says ‘Visual Novel’, a few of these games are also RPG/action games. 😀

First off, what we have here is the most recent news for Visual Novels, exclusive other VN translation announcements already made (Okujou no Yurirei-san), and some other stuff that Lena K. beat me to (怒).

Sekai Project has announced that they will translate the 18+ Yurige ATOM GRRRL!! by Cosmillica into English. ATOM GRRRL!! is a crime-comedy adventure about 4 girls on the West Coast of the United States.
