The cool thing about music is that, unlike stuff like yuri anime, you never run out of good things to find. Here are more songs that have been good for us lately~
Fitting of their name, Broods is a brother-sister duo from New Zealand that I discovered a few years ago, and I couldn’t help but play this song on repeat when I heard it again the other day. Even though I like many of their songs, this definitely has to be my favorite song from them.
What’s better than a good song? The correct answer is, a good song that’s accompanied by a good video. This song, Mercy by Hurts, is the backdrop for this awesome AMV featuring one of my favorite anime Kyoukai no Kanata Movie 2: I’ll Be Here – Mirai-hen. The version in this AMV is truncated a bit, but it’s still great, and it delivers even more feels for me.
Even though she’s only twenty-six, it feels like IU has been around for an eternity. Probably my first memory of her was this great video, but she’s had many good songs over the years. it doesn’t get as much love as it should, but Sogyeokdong is still a favorite of mine, and I can imagine saying the same thing about this song in a few years.
LÉON was featured on this series a couple of weeks ago, yet that obviously wasn’t enough, so she’s back once again with another stellar track. I know I’m stating the obvious, but there are so many good artists coming out of Europe that it makes me, an American, a little jealous. Where are our new, great singers?
How much cuteness can one person fit into a video? That question has stumped researchers for a century, so leave it to Madeline Juno to overstuff this one with tons of cuteness. Her, her pug shirt, and the song itself are absolutely adorable, and congrats to Madeline for being the first artist to be on this series three different times. It’s well deserved~
This song is by REOL, so you automatically know it’s good. There are a lot of other versions of this song, but I’d say that none can come close to matching this one. Pro-tip: While watching this, turn on the subtitles. She basically speaks about sexing a robot, and if that doesn’t pique your interest, then I don’t know what will. 😛
This song has the distinction of being a cover of a cover. Originally, this was I Only Want to Be With You by Dusty Springfield. That song was released in 1963, but it was once again brought to the forefront by Mexican singer Luis Miguel in 1987 as Ahora Te Puedes Marchar. Fast-forward more than thirty years and here it is again. Also, this parody video is pretty funny, especially when you compare it to the original.
