What We’re Listening to This Week (August 5th, 2019 Edition)

Not all good songs need vocals, as a couple of songs on this week’s edition of WWLTTW prove~

Doesn’t this song/video make you want to go on a road trip? Dean Lewis has probably been one of my most listened to male artists this year, and that’s what happens when you have a lot of good songs to choose from.

Other people in the YouTube comments mentioned this, but there’s something about this song that feels very familiar. I don’t know what it is. Anyway, this is the type of music that you play and just mentally wander off to think about everything in life.

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned how much I love the voice of Freya Ridings, and the same goes for LÉON. I first discovered her about a month or so ago, yet this Swede has already made a really positive impression on me, and I like several of her songs.

I found this one in the Discover section on Spotify, and judging by the number of views this video has on YouTube, not a lot of people know about this guy. Ah well. I’ll have to look for more stuff from Le Voyageur, and if those songs are like this one, I have a feeling I’ll end up liking this artist.

It’s a double dose of Irene this week! She finally steps out on her own in this track by Raiden, and as expected, she hits a home run. I hope this leads to her doing more solo music à la Taeyeon. But she shouldn’t just up and leave Red Velvet, because after all, we need those sweet, sweet Seulrene moments~

And the second part of the unofficial “Irene Week”. It’s not my favorite Red Velvet song or anything, but I definitely like it better than Zimzalabim, and who can argue against even more Irene? That’s right, only a fool! 😛

Oh man. Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso might be one of my top ten favorite anime of all-time, and the music from that show is just as good as the rest of the anime. This is one of my favorite tracks from the OST, and if you haven’t seen the show yet, I’d highly recommend it, just remember to bring some kleenex…
